T 28 Trojan Micro Paper Airplane
|
The T-28 Trojan has had a long service record.
The aircraft was mainly used by the United States as a trainer for more
then 30 years.
It was also used in the secret war in Laos and in unsuccessful coup
attempts in the Philippines during the 80s.
The aircraft is sometimes known as a tora tora, based on the movie Tora
Tora Tora.
Even though their were no T-28s back in December of 1941, and tora
tora tora means Surprise, we woke the sleeping giant, or tiger, the name
tora tora stuck because of the resemblance to aircraft used in the film.
Today we are going to talk about the Ultra Micro T-28 Trojan from Horizon Hobby. It’s a 4 channel 2.4 GHz micro war
bird in the park zone series of aircraft.
The RTF version sells for about $130 and it comes with a transmitter, battery, charger, and the fully assembled 4
channel aircraft with a steerable nose gear. I love being able to drive it around on the ground, It looks great with its navy
paint job whether it’s taxing around or flying high in the air.
Everything is set up and ready out of the box, simply charge the battery and go.
It’s well constructed with strong micro servos and a good engine. You can easily access the interior and adjust things
like the servo rod lengths or conduct repairs and upgrades.
My first flight was absolutely amazing, it was the first time I’ve ever flown a 4 channel airplane outside of a simulator and I
was impressed, I was doing loops and rolls and fast turns within 5 minutes.
The aircraft responds instantly to your commands, and it responds with power and authority, if you need to turn in a
heart beat you can, if you need to glide in for a smooth landing you can with no trouble. I can’t begin to tell you how
much of a joy it is to fly.
It’s also very easy to land. The aircraft comes with a set of detachable landing gear and a steerable nose gear so you
can drive it around on the ground and do normal rolling take offs and landings or you can catch it in mid air or land it on
soft grass.
When it comes to durability you wouldn’t think a foam airplane could take a hit, but this thing is made of dense strong
foam, and it can handle being knocked around pretty hard.
I’ve hit polls, trees, walls and the ground with it. And it just jumped right back into the air and kept flying like a champ.
The battery is a standard 3.7 volt battery just like the ones used in e-flight MCX and MSR helicopters and thankfully they
are interchangeable. The battery can also be charged in the supplied charger or a standard e flight charger.
Your flight times are going to be more then 10 minutes and charge times are around 30 minutes. And you can switch out
batteries and keep flying all day.
It is a 4 channel airplane so it does take some skill to fly, but it has low and high servo throws, so beginners can get a
good stable flight, and professionals can have a fun 3D experience. Its perfect for kids of all ages no matter if you’re in
to helicopters or airplanes, it’s a great aircraft for your collection.
A special thanks to New Age Hobbies for supplying this aircraft for us to test,Stay tuned for more reviews videos and

As promised hear is your free T-28 Trojan.
Simply print it out on normal paper A4 or letter paper works fine, cut out the pieces, and tape or glue them together, the
large black squares get rolled up and taped to the nose and act as nose weight. You can make a small medium or large
version from the print outs, just remember the larger you make it the more you need to support the wings, so the full
page version works better with thicker paper or an extra layer of paper on the wings.
